JK Phillips (Co-Director) is a core company member and Social Media Director at Theatre Unbound. Previous Minneapolis directing credits include Motherhood Out Loud and asst. Director Measure for Measure (Theatre Unbound). Other directing: As You Like it, Dr. Faustus, The Tempest, Afternoon at the Seaside, Alice in Wonderland, The Merry Wives of Windsor and children's productions of Macbeth, The Tempest, 12th Night, Midsummer Night's Dream. Julie earned her MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2007.
Melissa J. SimmonsCo-Director
After directing Aliens with Extraordinary Skills last fall and joining the world of Smackdown earlier this year, Melissa is thrilled to be working with Theatre Unbound again. Melissa began teaching Speech and Theatre at Providence Academy in 2002 with a BA in Theatre from North Central University and recently completed her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at St. Thomas University. Prior to teaching, she worked with Children's Theatre Company, Illusion Theatre, and Emmrich Theatre Production Co.
Delta Rae GiordanoPerformer
Delta Rae Giordano is pleased to play with Theatre Unbound again! She was a company member from 2004-14 and performed in several productions including Silkworms (a nun play), Girl Shorts, The Good Fight, 10 Virgins, Expecting Isabel, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley, The Anastasia Trials and Boy Gets Girl, as well as previous Theatre Unbound Fringe shows Chicks in Space and Women! Live on Stage! Some of her other Fringe appearances range from Sam Elliott in Mead Hall to the mother of a giant cockroach in Kafkaesque: A Musical Metamorphosis - but no turkeys.
Alexandra is a Core Company Member of Theatre Unbound with whom she has participated in numerous productions and events. She is a theatrical artist, costume designer, actor, director and educator. Her work has also been seen at The Guthrie, Penumbra, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Williams Town Theatre Festival, to name a few. When she is not doing theater, she is spending time with her husband and her fur babies. She would like to thank the turkey, bones and the eating. Also thanks TU for believing in her.
Jasmine is a Twin Cities native. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she was an active member of the social justice theatre troupe, I Am We Are. Her four years with the troupe created a passion for devising theatre that influences her work today. Jasmine most recently performed the titular role in LoomLab’s devised production, Perspehone. When she is not busy in the theater, she can be found working as a program coordinator for a local St. Paul nonprofit. Jasmine is beyond excited for the opportunity to work with Theatre Unbound and the amazing cast and creative team behind A Gertrude Stein Christmas.
Stephanie Ruas is excited to be back with Theatre Unbound for the MN Fringe Festival! Her past work with TU includes Measure for Measure (Provost) and Aliens With Extraordinary Skills (Lupita). She was most recently in The Room with Closets at the Southern Theater with Sparkle Theatricals. Other theatre credits include Nimbus Theatre: Ludlow, Minnesota Orchestra & Teatro del Pueblo: Ferdinand the Bull, Park Square Theatre: The House on Mango Street, and Pangea World Theater: Bandara. Originally from Minneapolis, she studied Marketing and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame (BBA). This will be Stephanie’s first Fringe show!
Make no bones about it, we’re glad you’ve taken a break (maybe from eating a turkey sandwich?) to come see our show! Laura has appeared in previous Theatre Unbound productions, such as St. Luke's, Bits and Pieces, Girl's Got Pluck, The Tempest, The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley, Murderess, Girl Shorts and Silkworms (a nun play). When she’s not performing in this show, she’ll be audio describing some other Fringe shows for patrons with vision loss.
Jeni LongStage Manager
Jeni Long is ecstatic to be a part of such amazing production. She is a proud company member of Theatre Unbound. Her most recent stage manager credits include Measure for Measure (fill in stage manager), Mere Trifles with Theatre Unbound, It Can’t Happen Here with Kit Bix Productions and Comedy of Errors with Maggie's Farm Theatre. She is thankful for all the support and love from her family and friends.
Anne Bertram, a founding Artistic Associate of Theatre Unbound, currently serves as Executive Director. Her work as a playwright has been seen in venues from high-school classrooms in Toronto to off-Off Broadway. Current projects include the KBEM radio series "Junctions and Sidetracks: the story of the making of EMPIRE BUILDER," conversations about a musical she wrote with composer George Maurer. She wishes she had written the line “The life of the turkey. Who is cruel.” To her Stein Xmas co-conspirators, she says: Thanks. Thanks so much. I thank you. I thank you for your kindness. Please make a collection of flowers.
