More Mid Less Westworld
Having gone in on the strength of last year's play "Mnemosyne", my expectations were high. While I did enjoy this, it didn't live up. Perhaps this was rushed or I missed some references that caused me to not see some of the depth that was there (and there *is depth). Worth seeing if you've the time.
Company: Mainly Me Productions
Show: A Justice League of Their Own

The Comedy Mash-Up I Was Expecting
Well-crafted parody and tons of fun. More swears than I was expecting, but it doesn't bother me and perfectly fit with the content.
Company: Reliquaries
Show: And What You Find There
Venue: Ritz Theater Studio
Out of Character Sequel
While adequately performed, the material feels out of sync with its source, at least in regards to its lack of subtlety regarding its messages, delivered here in heavy-handed monologues and all by the same Alice. I was also surprised at the complete lack of maiden/mother/crone tropes considering the different Alice's would have fit the parts.
Company: The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: Blood Nocturne
Venue: Southern Theater
Great Historical Horror
Like last year's "Memory Box of the Sisters Fox", this play tells the story of a historical figure and strips away the veneer of legend to show the humanity (or lack thereof) involved in her story. Guaranteed to be in my Top Five of the year!
Company: Red Dice Collective
Show: Cyrano on the Moon
Venue: Ritz Theater Studio
Great!
A lovely show well executed, from the dialogue-free recap of the original work to the final scene.
Company: Foxlin
Show: Next: The Musical (A Sidekick Story)
Venue: Augsburg Studio
Fantastic
Excellent music and performances from the young actors, especially the two leads. A must see!
Company: Michael Rogers
Show: Now We See It

Fun Dark Tale
Company: The Bearded Company
Show: Swords & Sorcery: The Improvised Fantasy Campaign
Venue: Theatre in the Round
Hilarious!
The Bearded Company does a great job with their improvised campaigning, though the gamer nerd in me does sometimes wonder just what rule set they're using (answer: D&D Cinematic Edition :-D). Extremely fun and silly while also adhering to adventure tropes.
Company: Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society
Show: The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society Versus the Nazis
Venue: Rarig Center Thrust
Exactly What I Was Hoping For!
This is in my wheelhouse, as I've been an audio drama fan for over a decade now. Watching the magic happen on stage is the best.thing.ever!
Company: Beardog Productions
Show: The Things They Carried
Venue: Ritz Theater Studio
All the Feels!
Strong performance of heavy material.
