Wow!

This was amazing. The music is great, the solo singing stunning, and the ensemble work seamless. A dark story to be sure and well told.

Company: FredPictures
Show: The Breakfast Club: The Musical!
Venue: Southern Theater

Don't You Forget About Me

A fairly literal translation of the movie into musical format. Earnest performances. Loved what was done with Ally Sheedy's character - Denzel Belin brought the best of the original character's quirks to the piece while injecting a fresh twist. Difficult to balance voices with music track - sometimes difficult to hear what's going on.

Company: Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society
Show: The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society Versus the Nazis
Venue: Rarig Center Thrust

Nazis are bad!

And the mysterious old radio listening society triumphs over evil! I love old time radio dramas and these two pieces fit the bill. Live shows sometimes even exceed the quality of the originals as there is no straining to decipher dialogue through poor recordings or odd broadcast sound dynamics.

Company: Mainly Me Productions
Show: A Justice League of Their Own
Venue: Theatre in the Round

Hulk is a smash!

I am now a devoted fangirl of Alison Witham. She rocks as Maggie Murphy! Seeing Andy in briefs was not a surprise but always fun. Very nice mashup and sendup.

Company: Comedy Suitcase
Show: Slapdash Panic: Comedy Suitcase ended up in the Fringe Festival with 3 weeks notice and no show!
Venue: Strike Theater

All the fun I expected!

I love to watch these two and the show deliveed as promised. Adored the reprise of an interpretive dance from years ago. The venue also provided an opportunity for good falling down off of things. Do not attempt unless you’ve signed a liability waiver.

Company: Grand Island Theatre
Show: Hamlet, but Hamlet's a Chicken
Venue: Minnsky Theatre

Bawk bawk

Great show! The chicken is one of the best Hamlets I've seen. Clearly it won the role of its lifetime based on sheer talent alone. Warning: there is ketchup in this show used to ill effect.

Company: Ghoulish Delights, LLC
Show: The Screaming Skull
Venue: Rarig Center Thrust

Creepy and Moody

A great adaptation of an old time radio horror piece. Atmospheric and deftly performed. Will challenge some with a more modern attention span, but the tale is well told and nicely paced. For fans of the genre, I highly recommend.

Company: Weggel-Reed Productions
Show: Couple Fight: The Musical!
Venue: Rarig Center Thrust

There’s Nothing Sexy About Child Abduction

You must see this! All high points and great variation. There are some stunningly strong voices. I would happily see this again. This is a large venue but I’d still consider reserving tickets.

Company: Fearless Comedy Productions
Show: Deep in The 100 Acre Woods: A "Pooh"-dunnit?
Venue: Minnsky Theatre

Honey pot grows up

Nice script and concept. It’s hard to wrap my mind around Pooh as a mean guy that deserved to get “stuffed”. Characters well done with high praise for tigger, rabbit, and eeyore.

Company: Custer & Schmidt
Show: Our Best Life
Venue: Rarig Center Thrust

Successful solo show!

Shanan Custer is one of my favorite performers anywhere. Her show was great and well worth seeing. Q and A fun as well as fab finale number.
