Venue: Theatre in the Round

A ridiculous but highly enjoyable show!

I loved the movie back when it came out.. I wasn't sure what to expect from the title, but was pleased with the result. I'm happy it was more than just a one-note word-swapping joke. I appreciated the whole commentary on the ridiculousness of movie ratings. Also enjoyed how well they addressed some of the things that have changed 20+ years later and the way the way we see them has changed. I wasn't as into when the action would stop and pull me out of the scene to explain how they couldn't show stuff.. but I also get how it's a good way to deal with some of the content and the length. And the hilarity of the word butts over and over falls short for me, but despite all that I enjoyed myself. Ridiculous premise +funny writing + solid acting = fun show!

Company: The Winding Sheet Outfit
Show: Blood Nocturne
Venue: Southern Theater

Beautiful, charming, haunting, wonderful show!

So many good adjectives for this show. It was one of the most solid pieces I've ever seen in the fringe. Wonderful cast. Great choreography and use of minimal props. The Southern stage is a beautiful backdrop and the their voices sounded great in that space. Just the right amount of lightheartedness mixed with delightful creepiness. And loved the way it presented the story relating to how it might be seen in both the past and present. Go see this show!

Company: Hot Chocolate Media
Show: Remy Raygun of the Space Brigade: A Build-Your-Own Space Opera
Venue: Augsburg Mainstage

Charming space adventure!

A fun show! Loved that it had an all-female cast. Enjoyed the live music accompaniment - it worked really well with this show. I really enjoyed being a part of the choices in the choose your own adventure - and it was a clever way to execute it. I liked that our choices really mattered at points! Though if I wasn't paying super close attention to names and such, I sometimes failed at knowing which choice I was making at the moment. I wish the costume changes were a little quicker, but I liked that they worked that into the show.
