A heavy theme, a young group, and a lot of polish.
I went to "I,Eternal" on opening night, and I wasn't too sure what I was going to get. The acting from this young but talented group was great and I'm glad that they were able to perform as well as they did. Though they may be young the actors still looked normal, at least as far as the story goes (since age isn't necessarily a factor for the characters in this play- just a hint no spoilers). There were some echoes of "The Crucible" in this show, seemingly set in its own Salem. I think that the age recommendation is about right for this show. There are definitely dark themes and too young might mean too scared to enjoy it. Overall the most impressive thing was the level of polish they put on the show to make it move seamlessly without skipping a beat. There are some interesting aspects unique to this play, like audience participation and an acoustic guitar backing that amps up the drama.
