Empowering Must-See
This is the show I needed to see ten years ago when I didn’t believe my stories were worth telling onstage (and honestly still need to see because I’m still fighting that feeling). Seeing this performance makes me to glad to be an artist in this community and grateful this group of women have stepped up to discuss something I often felt no one thought about (as no one discussed it). This fight against misogyny in theater and storytelling (and the world in general) is exhausting, but seeing this show gave me new energy. Go see it.

Show: Far Away by Caryl Churchill
Venue: Rarig Center Arena
Unsettling and Mesmerizing
This show is frightening, unsettling, disjointed, and bizarre - exactly how a production of this play should be. It perfectly captures the dystopic, war-torn world Churchill envisions where factions and truth blur and are made unclear. The hats were also beautiful.

All the Feels
I absolutely adored this exploration of apologies and forgiveness. There's this idea of synchronicity in the world about important ideas linking together and I really experienced that with this show in connection to some of the work I'm doing in my life. I especially loved the take down of Harvey Weinstein's un-apology and thought this show was beautiful and bittersweet. It was moving and powerful, leaving me wanting to see more from this company, as well as wanting to learn more about how we apologize and forgive one another.

The heroes we need and deserve
Superheroes and “A League of Their Own” go together like PB&J. It’s a fantastic, incredible combination. This show is hilarious and nails the complexity of feminism and superhero franchises. It’s dense and packs a punch in a rapid hour. A stellar cast, not to be missed, and special shoutout for recognizing crying is not weakness. I walked out ready to kick some patriarchal ass.
