really funny and campy
It has been a while since I saw the movie 'League of their own' or a comic book super-hero movie but I don't think that much was lost on me. Great cast all around, liked the smarmy talent scout, who had a few other roles as well. I saw this show as I had seen some other plays that Heather Meyer has done. Heather was good as usual with being dour, and with playing multiple roles in this show. I enjoyed the intelligent humor and social commentary in it, this was really funny and campy. This has to be the best show I saw at Fringe this year.

a good slice of history
Thankful I saw this one as I majored in history and I studied the Depression extensively so I was familiar with the Federal Theater Project. It took a while to see any of the plays from it, but it's the 2nd straight Fringe where I've found a FTP show. Also nice where they did more than just the original play, as there was also part of the HUAC hearings in it so I have another historical figure to look up.

each one was compelling
First time seeing a Fringe Orphans show. I attended as I had seen many other shows that Jena Young is in. Jena's sketch left me saying 'that's all?' at first, but it was a recurring mime sketch and it became fun to watch each time it returned. But each one of the 7 sketches in this show was compelling. Also notable to me was the first one, the technology museum, since I majored in history and I know much of what was said was true. also due to quoting a Pretenders song I really like. As a comic of course I liked 'Comedic Formula', and both of Duck's sketches were good, but I liked the one about unicorns more. Liked the funny honesty in the dating sketch, and the childlike experimenting in the chair sketch.

this folksy variety show works for me
I have seen these two comics perform before, so I am familiar with their performing styles. Some jokes I liked better than others, but I liked most of what I saw, so it's the sum total- worth seeing. I liked the jokes about Mary's family the most, especially her brother. Mary described it as a 'hodgepodge creation' but the transitions were smooth, so this folksy variety show works for me.

this absurdist comedy works for me
I had seen shows by Joey Hamburger before so that is why I chose this one. Enjoyed this absurdist comedy, except for the Iowa joke. As an Iowa native, of course jokes about my native state 'don't land' with me. Recognized a scene that seemed to be from 'Dr. Strangelove'- another brilliant absurdist comedy.

Even the transition was funny
Good cast all around, but Jakey was funniest to me. And this was fine with me as I had seen him perform before and why I chose this show. What I also liked was even the transition was funny, and became a scene unto itself.
