Humor & Drama in Family Tale Set in Mpls.
Sit back and buckle your seatbelt: You’re not driving, but you’re going for a ride! Ricki Douglas narrates amd navigates her story from childhood to adult—inviting you into her relatives’ living rooms and letting you hear her thoughts along the way. There’s culture, Catholicism and confusion as Ricki tries to understand who her biological father was—and why her mother doesn’t want to talk about it. Stories (many that are funny) are interspersed with original songs that help the viewer feel what she was going through. Whether you laugh, cry, feel mixed up or just want a beer afterwards (Grain Belt, her grandpa would suggest), it’s ok. Ricki’s just there to share her story with you—and she’ll still be singing after the theater is empty.
