Company: The Rest of Us
Show: An Odyssey Backwards and in Heels

A fun, high energy, ensemble show
I really enjoyed this new company's Fringe debut. The story of two friends' journey through the bars and friendship, was very relatable and entertaining. Holly and Emma have great chemistry together, so you are invested in their friendship. The ensemble of talented actors also work well together and some of the standouts were the "Cougars" Stefanie and Nicole and the "bride" Jiselle, whose drunken antics left us in stitches. The "bros" were also a lot of fun and Matt's "bartender" scene and Joe's hamburger dance were definitely major highlights! The music is a key part of the show and has a nice mix of bouncy, silly, and poignant, and keeps the story moving. All in all I'm very glad to have taken this journey and from the audience reaction, they agreed.

Show: Deep in The 100 Acre Woods: A "Pooh"-dunnit?

Not the Silly Old Bear we grew up with ;)
This creative take on Winnie the Pooh and his friends was a wonderful homage to classic noir and I loved how it was even set in that period. The different characters really fit well with the classic tropes and I really enjoyed the subtle costumes as well. Lana's melancholy Eeyore really fit the role but she managed to also keep it from feeling too one note. All of the actors did a nice job of playing both sides of their characters, and Greg's voice work as Rabbit was superb. Joseph did a wonderful job as the detective Christopher Robin and fit the role to a tee. All in all a very creative piece that I really enjoyed.
