I'm Not Mad
Couple Fight was a hoot. The content was super relatable (omg, I've had/seen those fights) and the performers were engaging. I loved the variety of musical and performance styles -- it really felt like each piece played to the strengths of the performers. I can see how some reviewers might be nostalgic for the format of previous years, but as a Couple Fight virgin... the musical element was really delightful. I even teared up a bit in the first and last songs! Perhaps future years could find a balance of scenes and musical selections -- for example, the rap may have worked better as a non-musical scene for me, though the surprise in the middle was hilarious. Stand out performances include European Adventure, Broken Glass, and Are You Mad? Would definitely recommend adding this show to your Fringe list. 10/10 - would Couple Fight again.
