…and the truth will set you free. Well, Maybe?
This irreverent and frighteningly current look at the news media pulls no punches. As with previous works from playwright Gerchak, this play takes a blindside approach to catch the viewer unaware. Will it prove as presciently accurate as 2016’s “Trump, A Musical Tale”? I personally hope not, but time will tell. Leave your comfort zone at home and just enjoy this piece. Leaving “The News” with your political correctness in-tact is probably not an option. Clevername has established itself as providing The Fringe original work with amazingly talented casts, musicians and direction. Everyone in this production is clearly having a great time! “The News” is yet another example of why The Fringe must continue to support daring new original local artists.
