Company: Red Dice Collective
Show: Cyrano on the Moon
Venue: Ritz Theater Studio

Imaginative!

Cyrano on the Moon was a fun concept whose biggest drawback was the strange set up of the space, it was cramped and difficult to see. The highlight of the show was the silence and movement at the top of the show!

Company: The Coldharts
Show: Eddie Poe
Venue: Ritz Theater Mainstage

Eddie

Eddie Poe is a really fun concept and had exceptional creative talent behind it. The character switches were seamless and convincing. The pacing was right on point most of the time, though there were several slow moments throughout. The effects were cool and the teeth disturbing.

Company: Threepenny Productions
Show: Fools, Errant
Venue: Augsburg Mainstage

So Much Fun!

Fools, Errant is truly a delightful gem in this year's fringe. The relevant script clips along throughout, and is complimented by the strong performances of Adelsman and Buan. High energy and quick witted until the curtain falls, Fools, Errant is a must see!

Company: Sister Shakes
Show: Proof! An Alien Abduction Pop Musical
Venue: Augsburg Studio

Proof!

Proof had a really fun concept behind it, though fell a little short in the execution. I was hooked at the beginning song, but unfortunately fell off the train as the show progressed. The plot line turning to an "magical" suicide prevention was not used tactfully.

Company: Theatre Corrobora
Show: Rejection
Venue: Augsburg Mainstage

Love love.

Rejection is one of the more powerful fringe shows of the season. Tough questions about love are universally relate-able to any audience member. A clean script, crisp direction, and an ensemble cast--including an impressive performance from last-minute addition Brady Mueller--made for a worthwhile experience.

Company: Hot Chocolate Media
Show: Remy Raygun of the Space Brigade: A Build-Your-Own Space Opera
Venue: Augsburg Mainstage

Missed the Mark

Remy Raygun was a unique and creative idea, unfortunately, the execution fell short. The choose-your-own adventure aspect was fun, however, due to several "rewinds" to switch scenarios, it felt as though every performance would likely follow a similar plot line. The small cast size necessitated some quick costume changes, however, they did not happen quick enough to keep up the momentum. A cleaner, crisper performance could have made this a fun experience.

Company: Blinking Eye Theatre
Show: Swipe Right
Venue: Augsburg Mainstage

I'll Swipe Right

Swipe Right was honestly just a silly time. Though predictable, it very well captured the nuances of modern "dating". There were very few slow moments but very many laughs to be had.

Company: Hit the Lights! Theater Co.
Show: WHALES
Venue: Ritz Theater Mainstage

WHALES!!!

I love whales, so I was sold on this show immediately. While not entirely what I expected, the performance was masterfully crafted and executed with high energy and precision. I would have liked to see a little more shadow play and a little less of a punk concert, however, WHALES!, is a must-see in this year's fringe!
