Monday, June 3 at 7:30pm

Drafts & Draughts is Fringe's multidisciplinary scratch night, featuring 3-5 staged snippets of new work back-to-back. Drafts & Draughts runs the gamut, featuring theatre, dance, improv, storytelling, spoken word, magic, interdisciplinary work, and more. Presenting works-in-progress in a casual atmosphere provides artists with a supportive audience. Each artist works with Fringe's Artistic Director to design and receive feedback on specific questions needed to push the development of their work forward.

June's line up includes:

Slap Happy Studios stage a draft of The Last Santa, a comedy show that imagines The Santa Clauses as a species of creatures, rather than an individual person, who find themselves on the brink of extinction as global warming threatens their habitat. Will this be the last winter of the Santas -- and the holiday season as we know it?

Actor and mask-maker Katie Kaufmann tests out a solo mask piece, Mara, following the journey of a woman suffering from chronic pain, and probing the lengths she goes to seek relief.

Andrew Erskine Wheeler will preview a portion of his upcoming Festival show, Booth's Ghost. Featuring the writings of Whitman and historical sources, 'Booth's Ghost' is an American ghost story of Comedy & Tragedy: of the great star-crossed tragedian Junius Brutus and his two sons, the infamous assassin John Wilkes, and brother Edwin.

Doors: 7:15p, Drafts: 7:30p. At The Playwrights' Center, 2301 E Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis.
