a solid honest little show
Istanboom felt honest and simple somehow. Complex thoughts were smoothly mixed into a textured set of pieces that flowed well in the fringe tradition. This show contains humor, pain, beauty, and a glimpse of another world through a well acted on person fringe piece. A perfect start to the season.

Incredible. Really incredible.
Went expecting something light and raunchy. Found instead a beautiful crafting of the complex intersections between humanity and sex and love and lust and desire and how they all can come together in a real and illuminated way. The singing, the media, the coat rack and stool, all just things that Jamie played with to share a resilient and enlightened understanding of womanhood and sexuality and love for others and self. Was it the best theater I've ever seen? can't say that. But it was the best sharing of love and sex and a woman's experience of them that I've seen. Incredible.
