Beautiful

This is a gorgeous show. The cast plays together seamlessly. You get the sense that you're being told a story around a campfire while also watching an elaborate dance. I found some of the fourth wall breaks a bit jarring, but it usually works and made for some funny bits. Overall, a stunning piece, and I learned about an amazing true moment from history.

A nice spectacle

Regarding the story, I felt like the tone was inconsistent. At times it was creepy, at others philosophical, and sometimes just goofy. (Ie. Lightsaber battles.) There are strong aspects to this performance, particularly in their movement. Thalia Kostman stands out in that regard. The keyboardist was amazing also, successfully establishing an ever-present sense of whimsy.

Catchy Music

I'll out myself for never having seen the movie, so a few of the bits may have been lost on me. I thought the music was great and kept me engaged throughout though. Strong cast!!

A Bit of Everything

I highly enjoyed this collection of short plays. The pieces contrast nicely, so you'll get a good mixture of drama and comedy. As you might imagine, some of the pieces were stronger that others. The fourth piece was well-acted, but it enticed you into a mystery that didn't really pay off. I loved three and five, but I won't spoil them for you!

Still Got It

I rarely see Fringe shows more than once, but I went twice last year and then again this year. The improvised story these guys weave is not only hilarious, but engaging. You'll legitimately want to know what happens next. Side not: if you're an unabashed geek, you'll enjoy it even more, but that's certainly not required. (What am I saying. Of course you're an unabashed geek. You're reading Fringe Festival Reviews!)
