There is hope for the future!!
This musical is perfect, and I am not exaggerating. I absolultely loved the story, in which the cental characters are girls who love and support each other, and when they do have a conflict it's not about a boy, and they explore empathy and authenticity and resilience...oh how I want every middle schooler to see this show. Every. Single. One. And also every adult. I love this show. (Also the performances were excellent. Great acting and singing. One of the most polished productions I've seen at Fringe this year.)

Challenging in much needed ways
Innovative staging, committed actors, memorable characters, and a call for empathy. This show will change the way you think about the people you walk by (or look through). Fringe at its finest.
Company: Papafully Designed
Show: I FOUND ME
Venue: Southern Theater
Purity of emotion
I am grateful to the artists for their vulnerability and the overarching message of resilience and hope in the face of a broken world. The piece was a bit literal for my personal taste, but some of the stage pictures were absolutely striking and will stay with me for a long time. I found the central narrator to be present and open and perfectly captured the spirit of the show. I am also impressed by how well the gorgeous Southern space was utilized. Lovely lighting and angle choices. I do think it would benefit from some editing down.

Show: Kaboom

Sheep FTW!
One of my favorite companies in the Cities! They are super wacky, super clever, and always entertaining. I am thinking of coming back a second time because I know I missed some jokes due to loud laughter, but the pace was part of the hilarity so I don't want them to slow down and wait for us to finish laughing! They really understand how to build tension in absolutely ridiculous ways. See this show!
Company: Literally Entertainment
Show: The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist or, Ocean's 'Eh'T?: A Musical
Venue: Mixed Blood Theatre
Broad strokes, but good jokes!
Great concept and a compelling group of characters played by very capable actors. Funny take on the heist formula. Probably much better stage pictures if you sit in front or near the front rather than on the extreme sides! Worth it to get there early to snag one of those seats.
